Humans Are More Advanced Than Aliens In Space Travels

As per the study, even if intelligent species are present, the physical restrictions which exist on some planets compress them from taking any action in space travel.

The research article, which was published in the Journal of the British Interplanetary Society, examine the chance of alien habituation which may lie on the other worlds and the conditions that may effect their potential to travel over the space.

The scientists examined the effect drawn by the escape velocity of the planet letting species to start into space and investigate the Solar System.

The escape velocity of Earth is 11.2 km/s, which is more than 40,000 kmph and is the speed which a rocket should get to escape the gravitational pull of our planet.

In previous reports, the super-Earth planets which researchers have recognized as possible applicants for organizing alien life, have higher masses and gravity if compared.

There is a possibility of planets having more than 10 Earth masses, which indicates intelligent alien civilizations surviving on them are more likely to use higher escape velocities.

“ That's why It could be the instance that an intelligent species on these planets would never be capable to move into space because of absolute physical difficulty,” said Elio Quiroga, the study’s author and a professor at the Universidad del Atlántico Medio in Spain.

In the study, Dr Quiroga summarized the escape velocity required in some of the planets outside the solar system and proposed a measure known as the Exoplanet Escape Factor (Fex). The study showed that space travel is not possible on a planet with a Fex value of 2.2.

“They are not capable to leave the planet with any specific quantity of fuel, nor would a viable rocket structure resist the pressures included in the process, at least with the substances we know,” wrote Dr Quiroga.

For such aliens, not only leaving super-Earths but re-entry of spacecraft will also create major challenges.
